The Media and Communication Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to enhance the visibility and reputation of the organization. This role involves managing media relations, creating engaging content for various platforms, and ensuring consistent messaging across all channels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media and communications, with a passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of the media landscape. Key Responsibilities:  Media Relations: o Develop and maintain strong relationships with local, national, and international media outlets. o Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials. o Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and coordinate interviews with relevant stakeholders. o Monitor media coverage and provide regular reports to the senior management team.  Content Creation: o Develop, write, and edit content for various platforms, including websites, social media, newsletters, and promotional materials. o Ensure that all content aligns with the organization’s brand voice and messaging guidelines. o Collaborate with internal teams to produce multimedia content, including videos, infographics, and podcasts.  Communication Strategy: o Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive communication strategies to promote the organization’s goals and initiatives. o Identify and capitalize on opportunities to enhance the organization’s public profile and outreach efforts. o Manage crisis communication efforts and develop strategies to mitigate potential reputational risks.  Social Media Management: o Oversee the organization’s social media presence, including content scheduling, engagement monitoring, and analytics reporting. o Develop and implement social media campaigns to increase brand awareness and audience engagement. o Stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices to optimize the organization’s online presence.  Internal Communication: o Facilitate effective internal communication by developing and distributing newsletters, announcements, and updates. o Support the senior management team with speechwriting, presentations, and other communication needs.  Event Support: o Assist in the planning and execution of events, ensuring consistent messaging and media coverage. o Coordinate the production of event materials, such as programs, brochures, and promotional items. Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.  Minimum of 5 years of experience in media and communications, preferably within a similar industry or sector.  Proven track record in media relations and content creation.  Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with attention to detail.  Proficiency in digital media tools and platforms, including social media, content management systems, and analytics software.  Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.  Experience in crisis communication and reputation management is a plus. Location: Samoa International Cricket Office, Apia Samoa Position Type: Full-Time Salary: $35,000 - $50,000
